Meet the artist! John Lowrie Morrison will be visiting the gallery on Saturday 7th May between 3 and 5pm for the opening for his new show, The Croft and The Lighthouse. All welcome!

We will be closing the gallery at 12.45pm on Tuesday 7th September to attend the funeral of Owen Maguire, one of the founders of the gallery who sadly passed away on Saturday 21st August.

We are delighted to announce that we will be reopening the gallery premises from Monday 26th April and will be operating our usual trading hours. Mondays to Fridays 10.00 to 5.00, Saturdays 10 to 5.30 and Sundays 12.00 to 4.00. We look forward to seeing you soon!

OPENING 7th MARCH. We are delighted to welcome 2 highly regarded and exceptionally talented artists to our Annan Gallery in Glasgow, Jonathan Shearer and Duncan MacLeod RSW. Known for his bold and dramatic landscapes, Jonathan likes nothing more than disappearing into the wilderness and mountains of Scotland to capture directly the physical movement, energy and light of the landscape. In contrast, GoSA graduate Duncan MacLeod RSW uses a variety of media and incorporates his own hand-made paper into his paintings to build layers and texture, capturing the mood, colour, tone and texture of hte Scottish landscape.

Happy New Year to all of our clients and artists. We are now closed for our usual January break until the 15th February when we will open our first show of the year. We are still showing a wide variety of works that are available on our website, so please get in touch if you are interested in any of these. Ron Lawson solo show 'Tiree 'The Land Beneath the Waves', opens on Saturday 16th November at our Annan Gallery, 164 Woodlands Road, Glasgow. This show will be entirely focused around Ron's love of Tiree, taking in the journey to the island, the beauty of Tiree itself and then beyond to places such as Skerryvore and Lunga. Ron will be in the gallery on 16th - all welcome!

Alongside John Lowrie Morrisons solo show Croftscapes and Flowers', openign 21st September, we will be exhibiting a solo applied art show featuring a collection of Scott Irvines sculptures. Scotts vibrant and tactile pieces complement Johns vivid and textural work perfectly and we are delighted that Scott has agreed to support his 6th feature show with us.

The Annan Gallery hosts a two person exhibition featuring the works of two well-known and popular artists, Cecilia Cardiff and Peter Foyle. Both artists have their own distinctive takes on Mediterranean Life with Peters dappled café scenes from French and Italian towns alongside Cecilias vibrant figurative paintings of waiters and waitresses working in bustling cafes and bars, often with the figures turned away or partly hidden, instead focusing on the drinks or treats being ordered

We're delighted to have our first solo show with Ron Lawson, one of Scotland's most original and distinctive contemporary landscape painters. 35 new works by Ron are available and the exhibition will be complemented by a solo show of applied works by Scott Irvine.

We are delighted to receive a few words from Gordon Buchanan, Award-winning Cameraman, Presenter and Public Speaker about our forthcoming Claire Harkess show...."Once youve spent time closely observing Polar Bears, you realise that for such a large and sometimes formidable animal they are also incredibly subtle creatures, even delicate at times. There is a majesty and mystery to the Polar Bear that is perfectly captured in Claire Harkesss new exhibition. I can only marvel at the way Claire has profoundly captured not only the beauty but the very essence of these iconic animals. Polar bears to me are the embodiment of all life in the Arctic and to lose myself in Claires art is like seeing them again in the flesh."

We are delighted to welcome John Lowrie Morrison OBE back to the gallery for a solo show 'Hebridean Moons.' John, also known as 'Jolomo' is one of Scotlands best-loved artists and with his distinctive and striking landscapes, the gallery's bursting with colour! John will be joining us in the gallery on Saturday 12th for the opening to present a fantastic selection of 50 new paintings. We look forward to hearing him talk both about his long painting career and his latest work.

A huge congratulations to 2 of our artists who have been named winners in the UK Craft & Design Magazines Selected Maker of the Year Awards, regarded by many as the Craft Oscars of the industry. Moyra Stewart has been awarded Gold in the Ceramics category and the Craft & Design Maker of the Year 2015. And, Mike Hunter, has been awarded Silver in the Glass category. Come and see Mikes work in the gallery just now and we will be exhibiting Moyras work at our end of year show which opens on October 17th.. Congratulations Moyra and Mike !
