Glass
Gregg is a glass artist and designer based in the market town of Holsworthy on the Devon/Cornwall border.
Gregg grew up in Cornwall and took regular trips out to the coast and to the moors. Exploring old mine workings gave inspiration for Greggs designs, which come from the rugged coastline of the west country and from the mining history of Cornwall.
As a self-taught glass artist, Greggs passion is experimenting with glass and combining ideas and techniques. Gregg has used mineral foils in his glasswork, influenced and inspired by colours and textures of the deposits of metal ores in the old mine workings that he explored as a child.
Working out his own firings helped Gregg to develop the textured look he uses in pieces such as Interactions. In order to create more flowing and organic lines, Gregg now works mostly with coloured glass powder, producing vibrant, bold and organic works of art.
