Rhian graduated from Camberwell College of Art in 2014 with a degree in Three Dimensional Design. It wasnt until her 3rd year at university that Rhian knew that she wanted to become a potter, after completing a collection of blue and white vessels for her degree show, which nearly all sold. Rhian is now a full-time potter and works from her studio on the Alscot Estate in Atherstone-on-Stour, Warwickshire.
Inspired by her Grandmothers Willow Pattern collection, Rhian continues the long historic tradition of throwing and hand-painting porcelain with cobalt-blue decoration.
Unlike most potters who practice on other materials initially, Rhian learned to throw with porcelain from the outset, despite it being notoriously difficult to work with. She challenges the perfectionist in her, by applying the geometric patterns by hand to her vessels to create Perfect Imperfection.
