Carina Prigmore

Carina Prigmore was born in Sweden in 1973 and has a diploma in art and design from the University of Wales, Institute of Cardiff. She has lived in Scotland since 2001, settling in Carrbridge in the Cairngorms National Park in 2002 with her husband Justin She graduated from the University of Aberdeen in 2006 with a BSc Honours in Conservation Biology.

Inspired but the dramatic Scottish landscape, the Cairngorms provide the perfect back drop for her distinctive landscape paintings, which are also influenced by her Scandinavian roots. Carina layers acrylics, using muted colours to capture the misty, subdued scenery of Scotland and creating atmosphere and mood in her work.

With a natural passion for the outdoors, Carina spends lots of time walking and being in nature, her work often based on memories or feelings of a place, which she hopes to convey through her pieces.

In 2018 she had her first solo show "Following the Seasons" in Perth. Her work has also featured in the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation "Wildlife Artist of the Year" at the Mall Galleries, London; National Exhibition of Wildlife Art, Liverpool; Art and The Animal Kingdom, Bennington Centre for the Arts, Vermont, USA.
