Rona has been a professional artist for over twenty-five years; first as a tapestry weaver, then as a painter in watercolour and finally using acrylic and mixed media.
"During my secondary education I received virtually no art education at all. It was not until I was 18 that I discovered an interest in the subject. However by that time it was too late to pursue it so I chose a career as a primary teacher taking an additional qualification in special educational needs.
I continued to draw and weave whenever I could until I finally left teaching to have a family. At this point I saw an opportunity to exhibit my work through galleries, also becoming a member of the Scottish Craft Centre in Edinburgh.
Over the years I have exhibited in many galleries in The UK and my work has also been bought by collectors in Europe, America and Australia. See the Exhibitions page for details.
