Catharine Davison RSW
Rock of the High Loch from Blackford Hill
Oil on Board
Catharine's work is underpinned by drawing or painting directly from observation. Her connection with the land stems from a childhood in Kilkeel, a market town in Northern Ireland, where the Mourne Mountains are a dramatic backdrop to the town and the impressive fishing port. Through her paintings Catharine aims to develop a series of pieces in response to a particular place, expressing herself with watercolour, oil paint and printmaking.
"I have a deep rooted appreciation of how man works and lives with the land and sea. Inspiration from the ever changing mountain terrain in Cyprus, the drama of the Mont Blanc Range, the allotments, Rivers and Harbours have been my inspiration."
