Una Monteith

Una was born in 1967 and completed a 2 year Arts Foundation course at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art, Dundee in 1986 before moving to take up a course in Fashion and Theatre Design at EdinburghCollege of Art. Una then studied at Moray House College of Education, Edinburgh from 1989-93, graduating with BA(Hons) in Management.

She has shown her work in many exhibitions in Scotland, England and Ireland. Una's cabinets, clocks, mirrors, room divider screens and lamps are all individually designed using a combination of wood, metal and ceramic. They provide a functional backgroundfor the exploration of unpredictable and exciting painterly effects producing unique background surfaces and decorative designs with qualities akin to thoseof the natural world.
