Laurence Broderick

Laurence studied sculpture under Geoffrey Deeley at Regent Street Polytechnic and under Sidney Harpley and Keith Godwin at the Hammersmith School of Art in London. Laurence divides his time between studios on the Isle of Skye and Cambridgeshire.

As well as solo exhibitions in Scotland, England, Jersey, Monaco, Germany, and Canada, Laurence has exhibited his work in group shows with the Royal Academy, Royal Scottish Academy, Contemporary Portrait Society, Society of Wildlife Artists, and the Royal West of England Academy. Some of his commissions include The Bull for the New Bullring Shopping Centre in Birmingham, Mother and Child for Bell's Whisky, which is on display at Cherrybank Gardens in Perth, and Turtle for The Prudential Art Collection in London. Laurence is joint president of the International Otter Survival Fund, which is a global charity for the conservation of the otter and based on the Isle of Skye, where he has held an annual summer exhibition for 26 years.

"My inspiration comes from wildlife, in particular the otter, a creature which radiates playfulness, joy and freedom."
