Donald graduate from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art in Dundee, where he found his true vocation in clay. He worked in advertising for five years before taking a year's teacher training at Jordanhill College. Now Donald teaches ceramics for a youth and adult training programme in the Buckhaven Community Education Centre.His work is mainly thrown and hand-built stoneware around an East Neuk theme, inspired by the villages and coastlines, often with a humorous slant. Donald's work is in the collection of The Princess Royal, which was commissioned by the Chamber of Commerce for Princess Anne.
