nikki godley
Nikki took a year out of her course in the USA in 2002/03 to study at Edinburgh College of Art. Returning to USA she graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a BFA (Hons) in Film, Animation and Video in 2004. She has now settled in Scotland and exhibits in galleries in the UK.
"I have always been interested in music, but even more intrigued by the people who can actually make it. The Music Makers is an ongoing series of oil paintings born out of my increasing fascination with musicians. Like the infinite possibility of musical arrangements, this theme offers me endless combinations of players, instruments, and compositions. A background in animation lends a sense of movement and strong gesture to the characters. I infuse energy and personality by using bold brush work."
