Susan has been a freelance sculptor, painter and interior display artist since 1972.  She has exhibited in many galleries in Scotland including: the Royal Scottish Academy, Summer Exhibition; the Scottish Society of Woman Artists, Scottish Artists and Craftsmen and the Royal Glasgow Institute.

In 1988 Susan was appointed by Reid & Taylor of Langholm, well known exclusive weaving mills, as co-ordinating Designer.  She establish a design theme relative to The Scottish Colourists, for an International Exhibition of their woven cloth in Edinburgh, London, Zeist and Bonn.

“I like to work on both sculpture and painting at the same time.  One compliments the other, the mediums used crossing over.  Painting on plaster with water colours and sculpting in cement and wood with painted parts added.  I also use re-cycled materials whenever possible, enjoying the possibilities an old piece of metal or driftwood offers.”
