maurice forsyth-grant
In 1987 Maurice graduated with a BA (Hons) in Illustration and Design at Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design, Dundee.
Since graduating, Maurice has exhibited in various galleries and unusual venues throughout Scotland, including The Royal Yacht "Britannia". His work is in many private collections in the Uk and Austria.
Maurice was awarded The Elizabeth Greensheilds Award in 2008. He was also one of seven finalists in the 2009 Jolomo Scottish Landscape Awards.
"I find myself being almost constantly inspired by places I explore and am frequently desperate to catch a particular light or brief exceptional atmospheric moment, often very early in the morning - my favourite time of day, or in the fading light of the evening. While I initially wish I could work more quickly, once I have settled into a painting I become immersed in the pleasure of creating it while trying to do the subject justice."
